2015 P3 Eco-Challenge Winners
Congratulations to our 2015 top prize school winner, McFatter Technical High
School! This year’s nominees and winners were honored on April 29 at the
beautiful Long Key Nature Center in Davie. The runner up for all categories was
Whispering Pines Center. The top educators were Lynn Walsh, Diana Dworzan, and
Jessica Brown. The top volunteer was Dr. David Kerstetter and the top students
were Connor Fahy, Dylan Navarro, and Ariel Elazar.

The well-attended awards ceremony started with the outstanding New River Jazz
Band combo and the delicious reception provided by Whole Foods. VIPs in
attendance included Broward County Commissioner Beam Furr (District 6), BCPS
School Board members Ms. Ann Murray (District 1), Ms. Heather P. Brinkworth
(District 3), Ms. Patricia Good (District 2), Mrs. Laurie Rick Levinson
(District 6), Dr. Jennifer Jurado, Director of Broward County Environmental
Planning and Community Resilience Division, and Guy Barmoha, Director of the
BCPS Math, Science and Gifted Department. The master of ceremony was Charles
Webster, of the BCPS Public Information Office and the wonderful keynote speaker
was Caroline Lewis, Founder and Executive Director of the CLEO Institute. Robin
Reccasina and Andy Roberts, members of the Environmental Conservation
Organization were on hand to present awards as well.
All nominees received awards and in-kind prizes from the generous sponsors. See
