Deadline Approaching - FPL to Award Grants to Broward Teachers Who Create Renewable Energy Projects

Florida Power & Light will award $500 and $1,000 grants to Broward teachers who create renewable energy classroom projects next school year. In light of the current budget constraints, this is an excellent opportunity for Broward teachers.

In order to apply for a grant from FPL, teachers need to fill-out an application that can be found at (www.fpl.com/community/learning/solarschools.shtml). Forms should then be E-mailed to (teacher.grants@FPL.com) by October 15. Winners will be announced and notified by December 1. Winning projects must adhere to state curriculum standards.

FPL awarded nearly $50,000 in grants to teachers across the state last school year.
